Abandoned Vehicles
City ordinance tracks State law in defining an abandoned motor vehicle, watercraft or outboard motor as one that:
- Is inoperable, more than 5 years old, and has been left unattended on public property for more than 48 hours, or
- Has remained Illegally on public property for more than 48 hours, or
- Has remained on private property without consent of the owner or person in charge for more than 48 hours, or
- Has been left unattended on the right-of-way of a designated county, state or federal highway for more than 48 hours.

Inoperable Vehicles
City ordinance tracks State law in defining a “Junked Vehicle” as one that:
- Is self-propelled, and
- Has an expired registration or inspection sticker, and that is either:
- Wrecked,
- Dismantled or partially dismantled,
- Discarded or
- Inoperable on private property for 30 consecutive days.
