ELECTION DAY IS MAY 1, 2021

The 2021 City Election will be held on Saturday, May 1st.  The slate of offices includes Councilmembers to represent At-Large, District 1, District 3 and District 5.  All registered voters in the City of Duncanville will have the opportunity to vote for the At-Large position. Registered voters residing in Districts 1, 3, and 5 will also have an opportunity to vote for their respective candidates.

Preparations Begin for 2021 City Officers Elections

Election Day is May 1, 2021

The 2021 City Officers election will be held Saturday, May 1st.  Duncanville voters will go to the polls to elect the Councilmember At Large, and Councilmembers to represent Districts 1, 3, and 5 for the upcoming two-year term.

The first official day to file an application for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, January 13th. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12th.  Candidate filing packets are now available in the City Secretary’s office.

City qualifications for candidacy include:

  • Qualified voter;
  • Resident of the State of Texas for one year;
  • Resident of the City and district for six months; and
  • Hold no other public office.

All registered voters in the City of Duncanville may vote for the Councilmember At Large.  Residents of Districts 1, 3, and 5 may vote for their respective candidates. Anyone not currently registered to vote has until April 1, 2021 to register in order to cast a ballot in the May 1st election.  Voter registration applications may be obtained at City Hall or the Duncanville Public Library.

Runoff Election Announced

A runoff election between candidates Don McBurnett (incumbent) and Misty Bains has been scheduled with early voting set to begin Monday, November 23rd and continue to December 4th. Election day will be Tuesday, December 8th.

City of Duncanville Announces City Manager Finalists


Duncanville, TX (November 13, 2020) – The City of Duncanville has narrowed the search for the next City Manager to two exceptionally qualified candidates.

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, the City will hold a Virtual Community Town Hall Meeting from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.  This meeting will allow residents an opportunity to ask questions of the finalists virtually.  The City Council will also have an opportunity to interview the finalists again on November 21, 2020, during a virtual meeting in Executive Session.

  • Hand-deliver their marked ballot to the Dallas County Elections Department, 1520 Round Table Drive, Dallas, TX 75247
  • Ballots may be hand-delivered during the Election Departments hours of operation now through Election Day (November 3, 2020)
